Days of the New is the American rock band from Charlestown, Indiana, formed in 1995. The band consists of vocalist/guitarist Travis Meeks and a variety of supporting musicians. The 1997 debut studio album was the first of their three self-titled albums and was produced by Scott Litt, who is best known for producing six R.E.M albums amongst many others. The album was a commercial success, selling 1.5 million copies worldwide and making it a US certified Platinum album. It spawned three singles, “Touch, Peel And Stand”, “The Down Town” and “Shelf In The Room”. The former single reached #1 on Billboard's Hot Mainstream Rock Chart where it stayed for 17 weeks and maintained considerable radio play to this day.
