The MOON 461 is an analogue power amplifier designed to amplify the signal from a preamplifier or other source component with absolute accuracy. As the most powerful model in the Compass Collection, it is engineered to deliver high current capability, low distortion, and stable performance across a wide range of loudspeaker loads. Its design is centred on preserving the integrity of the incoming signal while maintaining transparency, dynamic expression, and composure under demanding conditions.
At the heart of the 461 is proprietary MOON Distortion-Cancelling Amplifier (MDCA) architecture, pioneered in the flagship North Collection. This advanced topology significantly reduces distortion and improves linearity, contributing to a highly faithful rendering of the source signal with exceptional clarity and accuracy.
Two proprietary MOON Hybrid Power (MHP) supply modules—one dedicated to each channel—provide a stable, low-noise, and high-current energy source to the amplifier. This dual-mono implementation improves channel separation, lowers crosstalk, and enhances current delivery, particularly into lower-impedance loads. A Stereo / Bridged Mono / Bi-Amping Mono mode switch expands installation flexibility and supports a wide range of loudspeaker configurations.
With its black chassis, bead-blasted aluminium cheeks (available in black or silver), and clean architectural lines, the MOON 461 combines robust engineering with the distinctive visual language of the Compass Collection.
